06/02/2008- No Playoff Needed: Frey Victorious
Adam Frey used six birdies
en route to a 4-under par 68 at El Dorado Park Golf Course
to capture his first victory on the Birdie Click Tour. In just his second start on the
circuit, Frey gained a sense of redemption after losing in a playoff at the
Los Serranos
AM in March.
The Cypress native finished strong with a bogey-free, three-under back nine
that allowed him to pull away from
Alfred Labrador, who finished in the top-three in his
second consecutive start.
With this victory, Frey has taken the lead on the money list and in the season-long Birdie
Click Points Standings, overtaking UC-Irvine's
Tim Cha in both categories.
BCPoints Update:
With his win at the El Dorado Classic, and his second place finish at
the Los Serranos AM, Adam Frey has overtaken Tim Cha as the leader
of the season-long
Birdie Click Point Standings. The winner of the Birdie
Click Tour Championship at Oak Creek will receive 4 tournament exemptions
into 2009 Birdie Click Tour Events, and if that player is also in the top
5 in BC Points, he will receive a season-long exemption for the 2009 Birdie
Click Tour.
